About Leigh Farm Holidays

Leigh Farm is run by Colin and Jo Smart who have lived at Leigh Farm since 1973. Together they have developed the farm and diversified by converting the original barns into a series of delightful holiday chalets overlooking a green.

In addition they planted trees and created trout fishing ponds, which also adds to the beauty of the field and woodland surroundings.

One of the ponds is called 'Acker's Pond', after the world famous clarinet player, Acker Bilk, who declared the pond "open" and, with his wife Jean, used to live with Colin and Jo and now lives nearby.

To right is a picture of Acker Bilk performing at Leigh Farm to help raise money for Bristol's Frenchay Hospital.

The area around the ponds is a wildlife haven and conservation area with ducks, mallard, coot, moorhen, swans, kingfisher, pheasant and dragonflies. All can be seen and enjoyed at various times during the year.
